We've included this section to provide an overview of our ministry style and practices. While by no means comprehensive, we hope it will assist in offering a thumbnail sketch of the Church Body.

Affiliation

Calvary Chapel Louisville is affiliated with Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, Calvary Chapel Outreach Fellowship, and Pastor Chuck Smith.

Baptism & Communion

Baptism: Scheduled periodically for those who confess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and are actively involved in discipleship.

Communion: Typically celebrated once-a-month, on the first Sunday of the month. Open to all believers in Jesus Christ who personally trust in his atoning, substitutionary work at the cross, and identify with his subsequent bodily resurrection.

Children's Ministry

We have a fantastic Children’s Ministry led by enthusiastic children’s ministers with a heart for the Lord. Instruction is in God’s Word, the way of salvation, discipleship, and prayer.

• 2-4: Preschool
• 5-8: Gradeschool
• 9+: Invited to sit with an adult during the Service

We also recognize and support a parent's conviction for their family to participate in the worship experience together. In light of this, we request the following consideration: If  distracting behavior or the need to exit the Service is anticipated, we recommend seating your family toward the rear of the sanctuary. We desire that everyone have the opportunity to receive the ministry of the Word, therefore please join us in providing an environment conducive to this goal.

• A Mom's Room is also available for mothers with nursing children.

Pastor: M.L. Rocky Jones

• Born-again and baptized (Pacific Beach, San Diego CA) in 1985
• Married highschool sweetheart, Carla (Walsh), in 1985 (5 yr "engagement" began upon meeting at age 15)
• Early Career: Electro-Mechanical Designer (10 yrs)
• Early Ministries: Various Christian bands and worship teams (guitar, bass, vocals); fulltime worship leading in 1988; Bible teaching and lay ministry to adults, couples, youth, & children in 1989
• Ordained in 1992 by leadership of Calvary Chapel Coastlands (Del Mar CA)
• Five Children (boys/girl/boy) - a college graduate, a college student, a highschooler, a gradeschooler, and a preschooler; all are home-educated (1st-12th grades), witty, walking with the Lord, and relatively normal
• Present Ministries: Simply... the Word and worship... and the band, OpusJones
• Life Verse: "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!" (Joshua 24:15)

Sundays

Although we do not follow a formal liturgy, a typical Sunday Service includes the following...

• Informal/casual dress
• Contemporary Worship
• Open Prayer
• Teaching through the Bible (typically from the New King James Version)
• Lots of fellowship & conversation

Upper Room Cam

If our stairs present an obstacle to participating in the Sunday Service, then consider meeting in the Fellowship Hall on the 1st floor for our Upper Room Cam ministry, incorporating a live video feed of the Service. Participants will be served communion on Communion Sundays, to be received concurrently with the entire church body.
